In November 2014 he was voted Vice-President of WCBO, World Chess Boxing Organisation, and, after the death of Iepe Rubingh in May 2020, Montu Das take on himself the leadership of the world chessboxing movement. At the 2023 WCBO World Championships in Riccione, he was released by that role when Lara arms was voted WCBO President while Montu Das was nominated, by the WCBO Assembly, Honorary President of WCBO.

Mr Das was taken ill with dengue fever but, once in hospital, they also found him affected by pneumonia. He still feels very weak but they might release him soon.

The 6th WCBO Chessboxing World Championships, to be held in Armenia in five days time, will be the first one where Montu Das will not be present and will not be one of the most important actors of the global chessboxing movement.
