A record number of nations at the 6th WCBO Chessboxing World Championships in Armenia.

Tomorrow, 23rd October 2024 the 6th WCBO Chessboxing World Championships will start in Armenia with arrivals, registration of delegations and medical examinations. A record number of nations is expected for the most important annual event of this sport that is now twenty-one years old and it shows that is still developing around the globe.

The expected teams are from the following twenty-five countries: India, Italy, Iran, Germany, Russia, Turkey, France, USA, Latvia, Czechia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, United Kingdom, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Singapore, Switzerland, Morocco, Georgia, and Tajikistan. Some that were presents last year, such as Finland, Australia, Gambia, and Canada appear to be missing but still the overall balance is positive with the total number of countries increasing compared to the already record number we had in Riccione 2023.

The open ceremony will be on 24th October while the prize giving ceremony will be on 27th. The Championships are organised by the Russian ChessBoxing Federation and, above all, by its president Petr Zhukov.
